TruckTEC have extended the range of discs, pads and wear leads by introducing brake drums to the range of quality braking components.

Years of research, development and rigorous testing have gone in to the production of each of its braking products, leading to the development of a new friction material from TruckTEC, which is capable of withstanding the most extreme working conditions while keeping an efficient and safe braking sensation.

CV Brake Drums

To accompany the CV disc and pad ranges TruckTEC are launching a  small starter range of Brake Drums – Manufactured to exacting OE specifications to provide a quality range of commercial vehicle drums to G-TRUCK & UAN TRUCK part distributors, ensuring customers have peace of mind that only premium quality components are supplied whilst competing on price.

The new range caters for some of the UK’s popular truck and trailer applications, covering Meritor trailer axles whilst truck applications include DAF, Volvo, and Scania. Each is clearly marked with TruckTEC branding and part number for full product traceability and quality assurance.

CV Brake Discs

Building on the extensive portfolio of brake discs we have extended the range of discs by 24% ensuring a greater coverage of the UK CV parc, whilst providing technicians and operators with a premium quality replacement product that delivers when it comes to safety and performance. Brake Discs for Trucks have to offer safety and reliability assurance as standard not only because of the size of the vehicle but because of the variety of heavy loads they carry.

Brake Discs undergo a huge amount of stresses by working with other braking components to bring the vehicle safely to a stop. Brake discs are advised to be replaced in pairs to maximise safety and stays in line with commercial vehicle guidelines.

TruckTEC brake discs are made according to the standards required by vehicle manufacturers. Using grey cast iron in their construction, mechanical and microstructure specifications are similar to the Original Equipment components. During the casting and, in particular, the cooling process, TruckTEC strives to prevent thermal press – accurate controls constantly check that the castings are free from cracks, micro-suctions and other defects that can affect the lifespan and performance of the discs.

Machining takes place on Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) production lines, which are capable of maintaining correct parallelism and flatness.

During the machining process, TruckTEC ensures correct disc positioning through the precise placing of the central and radial holes. Sophisticated measuring instruments control the precision of machining as required by technical drawings.

According to TruckTEC, controlling strict tolerances is an absolute guarantee for a minimum Disc Thickness Variation (DTV), as well as for a comfortable braking manoeuvre free of squealing and judder.

CV Brake Pads

Tightly controlled manufacturing process TruckTEC’s manufacturing process takes place on deep moulding presses, which control variables like temperature on each individual part. Due to the correct dosage mix, with low organic content, TruckTEC parts avoid premature wear and provide stable frictional behaviour once fitted to a vehicle.

By ensuring controlled pressure in uniform proportion, cracking is prevented on the friction material; carefully controlled temperature ensures all friction components are bonded together evenly throughout the entirety of the pad.
